Soveriegn Grand Master, Richard Kim attended the annual sessions of the Grand Lodge of Michigan, and the Rebekah Assembly of Michigan. One of his main projects is the SOS Village that we are building in Battambang, Cambodia.
On Monday, 8 March 2004,
Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York, became the official spokesperson of SOS Children's Villages in the USA. During her reception, SOS Children's Villages USA also announced the establishment of a new SOS Children's Village in the town of Battambang in Cambodia, which will be funded by a 1.5 million dollar commitment from the Odd Fellows.
Brother Richard told us how the village is coming, and that it is helping about 100 orphans, with more to be added later. The Grand Lodge and Assembly of Michigan donated over $2000.00 to the project during the Sessions. The Odd Fellows also appointed a committee to work on getting more donations throughout the year from our lodges and members.
